Why I Named My Blog "Nest of the Phoenix"

Some names arrive like sparks. Nest of the Phoenix was one of those: bright, symbolic, and deeply personal.
While drafting this blog, I reflected on why the phoenix felt like the right symbol for my site; it represents transformation and resilience in a way that resonates deeply with me. Around that time, I had a conversation with my father about the blog and the name. It reminded me of his interest in dragons, which led him to share the deeper meaning and connection he has with them. Dragons symbolize strength, protection, and wisdom, qualities he expressed through his life and martial arts practice in Karate, Jujitsu, and American Boxing. Rather than force or power, his connection to dragons is about steady strength and guidance. In his own way, he became the dragon: the protector and a source of wisdom for his family, a presence that continues to support, empower, and guide me.

In a way, I see myself as the phoenix. I'm not seeking any type of immortality, but my rebirth is more about continually developing and becoming a stronger, wiser person through life’s challenges and creative pursuits. Like the phoenix rising from ashes, I embrace change and imperfection as essential parts of my journey, finding strength and renewal in every phase of growth.
Then there’s the nest. That part matters just as much. A nest is comfort. It’s home. It’s where ideas take root and dreams begin to grow. It’s where feathers are ruffled and smoothed, where quiet growth unfolds away from the noise of the world. It’s not perfect; it’s deeply personal. It’s the space I return to when I need to rest, regroup, and rejuvenate, a sanctuary that nurtures my spirit, replenishes my energy, and offers calm before I take flight once more.
So, Nest of the Phoenix became more than a name. It became a symbol of my creative journey: a place for chaos, honest reflection, and inspiring purpose.

P.S
I want to take a moment to thank my father, because no matter the situation, he has always been there to advise, support, and guide me. His presence has been a constant in my life, steady and unwavering, even when I doubted myself or lost sight of the path ahead.
When I was young, I didn’t always recognize the potential within myself; but he saw it clearly, long before I ever did. Through his actions and words, he taught me that strength is not always loud or visible. It can be quiet, patient, and enduring.
I have come to understand that my strength is one that may be unseen at times but is always present. My father’s guidance gave me the space to discover that strength for myself, to believe in it, and to embrace it fully. I see the potential that once felt hidden. I recognize it as part of who I am, shaped by his support and nurtured by his example. That inner strength has become a core support in everything I’m working toward.
As I continue on my path, I aspire to be the same source of guidance, support, and love for my own children. I hope they can look back and recognize the potential within themselves, just as I did, thanks to my father's influence. If I can achieve that, then my journey will have come full circle, and the legacy of inner strength will continue through them.
